Seems the  value of the fine-structure constant varies with time and is different when looking North than it is when looking south. Always knew the globes were right with England the right way up and australia upside down
was einstein wrong
What do you think Russ?
It's measured by redshift, but I don't know much about the fine structure constant or how it is measured. Any ideas,
Cheers,
Lyndon

Well...here is my take...

Einstein was wrong, but the the Fine Structure Constant was developed using all the current paradigms, which assume that Relativity is correct...so that is huge problem all by itself.

BUT, saying that it violates the equivelence principle is equally irrelevent.

here is why./././

Since there was NO Big Bang and NO Inflation....there was NO Grapefruit sized Bubble Universe in the past and NO expanding Horizon(s)...

The Universe is NOT Younger the farther away galaxies and their clusters and super clusters with the Voids in between the clusters (Which are Definitely There Lyndon....Sorry!!!) are from us...

So there is no a priori reason for there to be any difference in the way galaxies develope over there from the way they develope right here in our own backyard ;<))

Perhaps take a look at some of the spectroscopic techniques in the preprint of A Search for Time Variation of the Fine Structure Constant or Further Evidence for Cosmological Evolution of the Fine Structure Constant?

Having it be different depending on where you look as opposed to how 'far back' is even more intriguing, though.

I can't read PDF's anymore....gotta link HTML's

BUT "Cosmic Evolution" automatically refers to an "Age" for the Universe that they are comparing against!!!

I have been through this Fine Structure Constant 1/137 thing extensively before!!!

See all of "R Cahill's" Process Physics...I have veen through the whole thing several times before...

He is trying to use the 'old' "Aether" concept and saying the MMX should NOT have had a Null result....BuT that is wrong....

The Aether they thought they were looking for has never even had the possibility of existing...and therefore proves and means Nothing that relates to SR......it has NEVER had the possibility of ever existing at all Either,,,

BUT, there is a "Real" Aether...it is the CMBR "particle Photon" and even eliminates the "Wave" part of "Particle" "Wave' Duality !!! :<))
