I have been reading about the concept of a Discrete Self-Similar Cosmological Paradigm, mostly at the website of Robert Oldershaw.
Fractal CosmologyMost fascinating are his thoughts about what is going on in the next scale level up from the observable universe. The conclusion is that our universe is most similar to an atom inside a just-exploed supernova.
Sounds crazy unless you read some of the other papers.
If you have ever investigated this intriguing theory, I'd love to see some discussion here.
